About Me

My core psychotherapy training is in Adlerian psychology. I am passionate about this approach which offers both concrete and profound insights into meaning and fulfilment. Adlerian therapy influenced key concepts in Cognitive Therapy, and is recognised as one of the three main modalities of Depth Psychology.

I came to train in counselling and psychotherapy after working for over a decade as a music therapist with people with complex neuro-developmental issues, autism, ADHD, physical disabilities, psychosis, depression and degenerative conditions in special education, psychiatric hospitals and in the community. I believe most of our communication rests on non-verbal interaction, and this experience over the years helped me develop care and attention to such nuances in conversation.

From a foundation in Attachment and Object Relations theories, over time I became drawn to existential (I. Yalom, E. Becker, S. Kierkegaard) as well as spiritual (D.R. Hawkins, E. Tolle, R. Maharshi) themes in therapy. I feel I could integrate elements of these approaches into the Adlerian lens I trained in, whilst training in CBT and EMDR provided a broad set of tools to work concretely and experientially with anxiety, worry, OCD, low mood and trauma.

Alongside my private practice, I have worked for several years as a counsellor and CBT practitioner within a long-established young people’s Charity in Cambridge, and more recently within university staff counselling services.

Whether you think you would like to address relational challenges, sense of identity, self-esteem, discouragement, isolation, loss, anxiety, anger or neurodivergence, I would be glad to speak to you about how I may be able to support you, in either counselling or CBT. I am fluent both in English and in Italian.

Nella scelta di un percorso di psicoterapia, è importante sentirci a proprio agio sia nell’espressione linguistica, che nella comunicazione di riferimenti culturali personali. Se preferisci parlare in italiano, non esitare a contattarmi.
